Society for Endocrinology required a new larger premises to support the growth of the business and wanted an environment that supported the staff undertaking various work activities. Integrating existing furniture within the new scheme was of paramount importance in achieving a strict budget.
The development of the design was carefully considered around the requirement for current desk numbers and future expansion. The remaining spaces were used to provide offices, formal meeting rooms and various informal agile environments. A large communal space ‘The Hub’ was created to bring staff from both floors together in a more relaxed and brand free space. The Hub utilised a separate colour palette, feature lighting and residential finishes and furniture. Flexible furniture solutions were used throughout to enable the overall space to be easily reconfigurable to react to the changing staff numbers. A colourful, vibrant and light office was achieved using the client’s strong brand and incorporating their secondary palette.
Considerable attention was given to the positioning of the partitions forming the new rooms so minimising the alterations to the existing mechanical services. The installation of a new LED lighting system on the ground floor that closely matched the first floor was important for general lighting levels, helping bring the two floors together and will provide reduced energy bills for years to come. The Office Design and Fit Out was completed in a 6 week time frame.
