Bouygues is a leading construction company who understand that their success is down to their people, so keeping their team engaged and motivated is essential. A property review for their Bristol office presented the opportunity for the team to consider whether they should stay in their existing space or look to move. Our design team explored how their existing space could be remodelled to meet the evolving requirements of their organisation, so they could make the best decision stay or go
The team at Bouygues opted to stay and refurbish their existing workspace. The new design opened up the space by removing the existing offices to create an open-plan layout, making it easier for the team to connect with each other. A flexible solution of assigned and hot-desks frees up space within the office to allow for additional collaboration space to be included. A mixture of settings were provided to support formal and ad-hoc meetings and to provide choice and flexibility to the team. The vibrant, company brand colours were introduced to reception to welcome visitors to the space, whilst the look and feel of the breakout area uses a secondary colour palette to promote a more calming environment for time away from the main workspace. The new, larger breakout area now provides a more social environment where the whole team can get together.
As an in-occupation refurbishment, the fit out was phased over 3 stages to minimise the impact on the team at the Bristol office whilst the works were carried out. The new workspace is now supporting the culture that the leadership team at Bouygues in Bristol is promoting, enabling the team to be at their best.
