The AMH process (3 of 4) Construction: The Build Journey

The Build Journey: How Your Workspace Comes to Life

If you’re thinking about changing your workspace, the build stage can be daunting. It can feel disruptive, full of moving parts and packed with decisions. Our job is to guide you through it clearly and steadily, so you always know what’s happening and what to expect next.

In this article, we talk you through what to expect during every stage of the AMH build journey, from early preparation to handover. No surprises. No stress. Honestly!

Mobilisation. Getting ready.

Mobilisation lays the groundwork for a smooth office fit out. Before any tools or materials arrive on-site, we make sure everything is planned, coordinated and ready to go.

This stage includes, confirming specifications and design details, planning access, timings and site requirements, coordinating contractors, trades and material lead times and creating a clear project programme you can follow.

It gives you a realistic understanding of what will happen and when, so there are no surprises once the build begins.

The build stage. Taking shape.

This is where we start to see your workspace take shape. Walls are built and each area starts to resemble the design you’ve chosen and approved.

Our project managers oversee the entire CAT B fit out process, keeping a close eye on workmanship quality and design accuracy, whilst ensuring everything is compliant in terms of safety and regulations. We also stay close to timings, ensuring progress against the agreed programme of activities.

You receive regular updates and site information throughout. Clear communication is part of how we work, so you’re never left wondering what’s happening

Furniture Installation. Adding character.

Furniture brings personality and practicality into the workspace. It shapes how people come together and move through the environment.

We plan furniture procurement, so it fits seamlessly into the build timeline. As soon as the space is ready, installation begins, from ergonomic seating and workstations to meeting furniture, breakout pieces and bespoke joinery.

This stage often shifts the project from being under construction to something you can picture using and spending time in. You can walk through the rooms, see how each area connects and get a real sense of how the workspace will feel once your teams move in.

Getting ready. Moving in.

As the build nears completion, we focus on preparing the space so it’s fully ready for your teams. Systems are tested, safety checks are carried out and the final details are completed to make sure everything works as intended.

This is when the space begins to feel different. The construction work winds down, the environment is cleaned and you can walk through and picture how your teams will use it from day one.

Handover. It’s here!

At handover, we walk you through the finished workspace so you can see how everything has come together. We show you how each area works and make sure you feel confident using the space from day one.

All documentation and key contacts are provided, and our team is available and on hand after move-in for anything you need.

If you’re exploring how to create a workspace that works better for your people, we’d be happy to guide you through the process.
